I think the out of focus lighting spots enhanced the image to this nature study. It has given a pleasing soft touch of the entire image. If you think that green foliage is a distraction, I could easily remove it. To me, it is just part of the composition. Luckily, the colourful dragonfly is a much stronger attraction. I always search for a silhouette foreground for a sunrise image. From my window I am able to so from the vantage angle. On 28 12 2020 morning, the rising sun was softer. I decided to capture another image of the rising sun. Are you able to differentiate the difference between sunrise and sunset? Years ago, a veteran in photography ever made a wrong judgement in front of a guest of honour at an opening when they were viewing my exhibit. So be cautious!
A vantage angle has ben selected to make full use of the out of focus backdrop as well as the bright spot to frame the tiny spider. Thus, the visual impact of whole image is achieved.
To me, such perceptive is bold and has to be careful utilised. The end result is rather unusual. This is an image that I captured at the Lower Seletar Reservoir on 22 11 2020.
