Searching Among The Cluster Of Bright Pink Eggs

A cluster of bright pink eggs laid by the Apple Snail is not the favourite food for the bird. Embraced by the brilliant morning sunlight by the edge of water of the Lower Seletar Reservoir, the bird apparently was fishing for breakfast. I was attracted by the beautiful lighting and the colour of the water in the backdrop to capture the image of this nature subject. Most importantly, to freeze the decisive moment within a split of a second is the moment that I had been waiting for. (30 10 2020)

Gorgeous Colour Of Eggs

The colourful items on the pillars or rocks by the water side of our reservoirs are a common sight to me. I have been wondering about the presence of these items. Not until I read about the snails (thousands of them) laying eggs during the night. Eventually, on 21 01 2021 at the Lower Seletar Reservoir, I witnessed the interesting sight with a cluster of bright pink eggs (toxic) laid by the Apple Snail on a pillar just above the water. It is a wonderful sight for nature photography. All these eggs were cleared in the middle of March 2021 by the PUB.

Serenity Mood

I personally love the golden colour of autumn. I deliberately placed the giant old tree in the centre of the image. Such an arrangement is an example of breaking one the rules of composition. The final image shown here is not boring and yet enhanced the image. I simply love the mood of this colourful image. I captured this image at the Regent’s Park, London on 13 11 2013.
