Pattern of Jars

One of the Pewter Tray Awards from the 24th Singapore International Salon held in 1973. A visit to a soya sauce factory in Singapore provided me with an opportunity to capture the image of this man at work. A montage of a piece of lith film onto the original transparency created the much desired dramatic impact for the image.

  1. Mr.Tan,

I was a school boy in Victoria Sch,Spore in 1975 when you came down to conduct a photography course under the sponsorship of Canon. That was the first time I saw this picture, I was stunned by its simplicity and beauty. Now, more than 35 years later, my reaction is still the same. With the internet, me and the rest of the world are able to enjoy the beauty of your art. Thanks for sharing over the internet.

  2. Dear CL,

Time flies! I am glad to hear from you and your valuable comment.
Are you still interested in photography? I am having my solo exhibition in August(21st to 30th August at Ngee Ann Cultural Centre). I am inviting you to the opening of the exhibition on the 25th August. I hope to meet up with you by then.

    Best regards,

  3. Dear Mr.Tan,

I am still keen on photography although most of my pictures are of my family :). Thank you for your invitation. I would be most honoured to attend. I am sure I would be greatly inspired by your pictures all over again.

    Regards.
