Fleeting moments frozen in time
A different version of the spiral staircase that I took at the Chinese Gardens…
Normally, I wouldn’t have expected the perfect subject to crop along that easily when composing shots such as this one. Guess I was a little lucky that day when this boy decided to take a peek right back at me with his digital camera (somemore, dressed in attention-grabbing red!).
While taking this picture along North Bridge Road in Singapore, I was attracted by the colors of the street buildings. The scene was made even more striking when a yellow Mazda stopped along the street. Little did I expect a lady dressed in an orange sari to walk by… I thought she added just the right touch to an already colourful picture.
This was taken in Osaka’s Universal Studios right before I took this other shot. Sometimes, pictures of parade spectators can be as interesting (if not more) as those of the participants. Selective background desaturation done here to bring out the main subjects of the shot.
Update – CY has suggested that this shot be called “Freeze” instead — because the action has been frozen, as well as the fact that ice-cream is being enjoyed. What do you think of this alternate title?
