Many times have I brought my tripod along on my trips but failed to utilize it for photography, especially on my last trip to Cornwall in the UK where the strong wind conditions made using a tripod practically impossible. On our trip this time round to the Lake District in the UK, I was finally able to make full use of my tripod with the much milder weather. I am pretty happy with some of the shots I managed to catch on our early morning walk around Buttermere.
Manchester, UK has a special place in my memories. It was the place where I was trained as an obstetric emergencies instructor nine years ago. It is also the place that I have taught on such courses the most. We returned to Manchester again this year to teach as well as to re-certify as instructors. Of course, having travelled all the way there, there was no way I was not going to indulge in some photography along the way :p I had some fun this time round doing some daytime long exposure photography using a 10-stop neutral density filter. I like the surreal effect I was able to achieve 🙂
My first visit to Buttermere in the Lake District, Cumbria, UK, was in 2008. Making a revisit nine years later, we decided to stay overnight in order to catch some early morning photography. What we saw on our morning walk was certainly worth our sacrifice of having no TV, Wifi or cellular connection during our visit to the remote area! :p
