I have been wanting to revisit this stretch of the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) where construction of the new Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) has been going on. When the KPE project is complete, this area will see the opening of Singapore’s first “spaghetti junction”, so-called because of the network of intertwining roads and fly-overs. I was wishing for a little bit of rain on the road to add some reflections and atmosphere when I took this last evening. Despite the absence of rain eventually, I was pretty happy with some of the shots I got.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival everyone! Otherwise known as Moon Festival, Mooncake Festival, Lantern Festival or 中秋节 (pinyin: zhōngqiÅ«jié), Chinese family members and friends will traditionally gather to admire the bright mid-autumn harvest moon, and eat moon cakes and pomeloes together. Children join in the festivities by carrying brightly-lit lanterns — I remember the traditional candle-lit ones that Grandma used to buy us, which in my opinion, was much more fun to play with (especially if they caught fire! :P) compared to the battery-lit ones of today. As part of the celebrations, the Chinese Gardens in Singapore has put up impressive display of large lanterns to lure in the crowd. I was there over the weekend with Mum and CY to soak in the festivities (as well as to take some pictures).

After I put up the previous post, Dad commented that he found the light trials a little overbearing. I decided to put up this version sans light trials for a comparison. Getting the two shots post-processed to similar settings was a cinch with CaptureOne although I had to do some additional touching up in Photoshop to remove some light flares and sensor dirt. Which one do you prefer? 🙂
