Surreal Evening Colours At Coles Bay

Surreal Evening Colours At Coles Bay
I am back from a long overdue family vacation to Tasmania, Australia. Serious photography and family vacations are not the best possible combinations especially with the young children we have. I was lucky to squeeze in some decent photography along the way. This was taken just at dusk at Coles Bay within the Freycinet National Park making full use of the “blue hour”. I was surprised that I managed a decent long-exposure shot without a tripod (I stabilised the camera on the railings overlooking the scene), resulting in the final surreal effect. This is one of my favourite shots from our trip.

Library Discussion
I walked past the State Library Victoria in Melbourne during my trip to Australia in December last year after missing the last free tram of the day. Struck by the dramatic evening lighting cast on the building exteriors, I did a web search and found that the La Trobe Reading Room within offers good photographic opportunities. We decided to make our way back and entered the library one morning. In the searing heat of summer, having the opportunity to take some candid photos in air-conditioned comfort (and in excellent photographic setting) was an additional bonus!
