Taken on our journey to the Dorset Coast earlier this year… Beach huts are a common sight on many British beaches. Apparently Victorian in origin, they were apparently a means for royalty to preserve their modesty while they change at the beach on holiday. They certainly present a colourful sight on beaches, although these particular ones were rather dull and gloomy during our visit because of the strong winds and wet weather occurring then.
For the Star Wars fans amongst you (and in myself), no apologies for the title as the figures not only reminded me of literal sky-walkers but also the giant trees on Endor from Return of the Jedi 😛 This picture was taken from our first foray into Gardens by the Bay, Singapore’s newest attraction. The eleven iconic “Supertrees” dominated most of the pictures I took in my short three-hour visit to the Gardens. Repeat visits are definitely on the cards…
Taken in Langham Place Shopping Mall in Mongkok, Hong Kong… One of my favourite angles for photography in crowded places is to adopt a top-down, bird’s-eye view. This angle not only gives an unusual perspective of things but also helps to de-clutter the background. Unpredictable crowd behaviour and a slow shutter speed add to the ingredients of an interesting, unconventional shot!
