Cleaning in Progress
After enjoying a year of photography away from Singapore, I have finally come back to taking pictures of the urban landscape in Singapore. The above was taken during a Sunday walk along the Marina Bay Sands waterfront. Although I have previously taken pictures of the architecture of the ArtScience Museum, what I like about this shot is the presence of the “cherry picker”. I thought this, together with the man in it, provided a point of human contrast as well as a reference to the scale of the architecture.

Busking At Radcliffe Square

Busking At Radcliffe Square
Buskers make good candid photographic subjects in general. This particular one at Radcliffe Square in Oxford was in the perfect place since the colour of the surrounding walls and environment complimented the warm skin tones of the busker and his blue shirt perfectly. I had to bump up the ISO to 800 to freeze the action as he played on his violin. This created a nice grainy effect which I thought was appropriate for the journalistic mood of the shot.
