Feeding Time

Feeding Time
Taken at Lizard Point, the most southern point of mainland Great Britain… You might have noticed that my recent posts have been taken with a Panasonic Lumix G3 compact system camera. The initial plan was for me to survive on the Powershot G10 and S90 till someone could bring my DSLR kit over to London. Unfortunately, that would have also meant that I would have to miss the most of photography-friendly summer as my kit will only arrive in November! In the end, I decided on the G3 as it was reasonably-priced and still flexible enough for my photography-needs. The G3 has the advantage of being extremely portable — bringing the camera, its 14-42mm kit lens and an extra 45-200mm lens around my travels is a joy! It also means that I should have no trouble bringing it to Singapore when I eventually end my stint in London.

Harvest Time

Harvest Time
We just got back from a trip to Southwest England, visiting Somerset, Cornwall & Devon over the bank holiday weekend. The initial weather we encountered was disappointingly wet. Fortunately, the skies cleared up towards the last two days of our trip. We were rushing from Cornwall to our B&B in Torquay, Devon, a journey that was supposed to take at least two and a half hours. I made the trip slightly longer when I spotted the turbines of the Carland Cross wind farm along the A30, overlooking St Newlyn East towards Newquay 😛

The title of the shot refers to a few things: the wind farm harvesting electrical power from the winds, the fields that are being harvested, and my harvest of photography from the trip 😉

A Postcard From London

A Postcard From London
We arrived in London just before summer was about to start this year. Time flies… four months later, we are starting to witness the change in seasons as summer is about to make way for autumn. The days are getting noticeably shorter, with the sun rising much later and setting much earlier. We decided to catch the remaining summer weather by spending as much time outdoors as my breaks from work would allow. Here’s a home-made postcard from London, capturing the iconic London Eye and Palace of Westminster (Big Ben) at dusk last weekend.
