Normally, I wouldn’t have expected the perfect subject to crop along that easily when composing shots such as this one. Guess I was a little lucky that day when this boy decided to take a peek right back at me with his digital camera (somemore, dressed in attention-grabbing red!).

This was taken during the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations at the Chinese Gardens in Singapore. When CY lit up her lantern, I was reminded of a shot which dad took of me and my brother peering into our lanterns ages ago when we were kids visiting the same place. I like the warm glow from the lantern that lit up CY’s face in the picture. Fill-flash (with a diffuser) was used to achieve the final lighting effect.
Another of the light trial shots I took recently at the Pan-Island Expressway/Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway interchange… I like this particular one for the panaromic effect compared to my previous post. The trick in taking this was waiting for vehicles to come and run by all the flyovers and sliproads so that these paths can be lit up in the final shot.
