From our recent trip to Western Australia… Photography when travelling with family sometimes just means stealing a little spare time during short moments such as when we were waiting for dinner to be prepared. A quick stroll to the pier outside allowed me to capture some nice pictures just as the twilight was approaching. I love the reflections made by the very calm waters that evening.
Busselton Jetty has always been an attraction for me whenever I travel to Western Australia since my first visit in 2003, more than 20 years ago! There is something about the jetty that draws me photography-wise and I am grateful that I brought my tripod along on my most recent trip just a week ago. I love the colours and mood, with the composition enhanced by an unexpected outline of a pool of water in the foreground, likely left behind by an earlier period of high-tide.
It may be Tulipmania at Gardens By The Bay currently but blooming daffodils and narcissuses are displayed as an interesting contrast. Collectively, tulips, daffodils and narcissuses are spring-flowering bulbs. Compared to the tulips, narcissuses are trickier to photograph. Patiently waiting for the right lighting conditions is the key!
