Spiraling Away
Spiral staircases have always held photographers in fascination. I indulged in my own share of this fascination when I came across the spiral staircase in the 7-storey pagoda at the Chinese Gardens in Singapore. When we arrived at pagoda, the sun well on its way to setting. This provided a fantastic warm glow to the scene. Lighting was however dim to such an extent that I had to crank up the ISO setting to 800 for steady handholding of the camera. Thankfully, my camera was up to the task in capturing the scene with minimal noise.

Imperial Perspective

Imperial Perspective
After reading the same Photography Monthly article I mentioned in this post, the other building picture I wanted to catch on my trip to Manchester, UK, was that of the Imperial War Musuem. We reached there early after breakfast and was rewarded with a brief moment of sunshine. I love the warm glow the sun has cast on the otherwise monochromatic buildings.

Reflecting On The Armadillo

Reflecting On The Armadillo
I had this picture in mind when I came across this scene at the new BBC Building in Glasgow, located on the opposite side of the Clyde River, across the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC). This time round, I wasn’t lucky enough to get two candid human subjects to add to the picture though. The lighting conditions were different too – for this shot, I had to do some HDR processing due to the lighting ratio. I like the final effect I managed to achieve though, as well as the lines and patterns in the composition 😀
