At Work On The Hospital

Updates to my photoblog will be a little slow for the next few months since I will have lesser time for updates due to my upcoming post-graduate examinations…

A picture from the past archives…

As part of the 80th anniversary celebrations of the hospital that I work at, photographs depicting hospital staff at work (from technicians, maintenance, to health care workers) will be put up at a commemorative exhibition. I went around the hospital looking for pictures to take (when as luck would have it) I came across this scene of cleaners at work on the exterior of the hospital building. I like the contrast of the human activity against the patterned backdrop of the hospital building windows.

NB: I no longer working at this hospital currently and the above-mentioned exhibition has already taken place.

Above The Concrete Jungle

Apologies for the lack of updates to my photoblog… I have been away for a short break in the city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The hot and hazy weather did not promise too much photographic opportunities during my trip. To reduce baggage, I brought what I thought was a bare minimum set-up in the form of my 20D, two lenses (covering a focal length of 18-135mm) and a small tripod. This particular aerial view of the city was taken from the Menara / KL Tower through glass on a blazingly hot day. The particular hotel I was staying at is just partially hidden behind the AXA office building.

The Esplanade Before Dusk

Australians love their Sydney Opera House… Singaporeans love their Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay. I think this classical night scene of the Esplanade had become a must-visit for many Singaporeans (and tourists alike) with digital cameras. I should know… This is my third visit with there with a another new digital camera!

This particular one was taken at a slightly earlier time compared to the others. As usual, a passing bumboat (loaded with tourists) provided the “special-effect” streak across the foreground. The lone flash light from someone onboard the boat provided an interesting sparkle of light.

Exposure information: Canon EOS 20D, Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens, Shutter – 8 seconds, Aperture – f/11.0, ISO 100, Exposure Mode – Manual, Metering Mode – Evaluative, Captured in RAW and processed with CaptureONE 3.6 LE
